Trail is well maintained single track that is flowing and fast with reasonable climbs. Only a 3 or 4 moderate technical areas. From the parking area at shelter 9, you can enter and go left or right. Right goes to the older trails (Masons First, Boyscout, etc.) Left takes you to the new sections as of end of 2012. www.trailmasons.org for trail maps.
You can also ride all the way around the lake as well on the horse trails to get more than 20 miles of trail...but these trails are clearly multi-use.
starting at I435&Leavenworth Road (just north of the Legends and KS Speedway): Head East on Leavenworth Rd (Hwy 5). You can enter on N91st and it will wind through the park...easier to continue East to N 83rd st and turn left (North) about 1/2 mile to park entrance. Turn left into park, go 1/2 mile and turn right and follow road to Shelter 9 area. Trailhead is just West of the lower parking area (near the rock retaining wall)
